Movin’ On’s Spring Break Survival Guide

If you feel like this “spring” semester (which is really a winter semester) has been dragging on for way too long, you’re in luck! Spring break is finally right around the corner, and we’re just as excited as you are for this well-earned break. Whether you’re traveling somewhere exciting to spend your break, or you’re just enjoying your time back home, we’ve got all the advice you need to make sure you make the most out of your spring break.

1. Make a “Spring Break” playlist!

There’s nothing more exciting than hand-selecting the songs to add to the soundtrack of your spring break. Maybe you’ll take this opportunity to explore fresh, new music from artists you haven’t listened to before, or maybe you’ll stick to the tried-and-true songs and artists you’ve loved for years. Either way, take the time to curate the perfect playlist for your spring break activities to make sure you’ve got the perfect vibes each day.

2. Take tons of pictures!

Another thing you should do to get the most out of your spring break is to take tons of pictures. Whether it’s your first spring break or your last (or anything in between,) it’s important to make sure you’re capturing those memories with your friends, loved ones or whoever. You’ll be happy a year from now when you get those snapchat memories from your spring break, seeing what a great time you were having.

3. Stay hydrated!

This is the golden rule! We all know that spring break is the time when people go all out and party all week. However, you absolutely cannot forget to drink enough water to stay hydrated! The symptoms of dehydration can get pretty severe, so you should absolutely make sure you’re drinking enough water before/during/after your parties. The last thing you want to happen on spring break is that you suffer from severe dehydration, so drink up!

4. Get ahead on your assignments before spring break.

There’s nothing quite like the mad dash that happens the week before spring break, as seemingly every professor on campus rushes to get assignments/papers/exams finished before break. However, if you find yourself with some free time before spring break, it is always a good idea to get a head start on any assignments that you know may be due when you get back from break. It always sucks to come back from spring break and seeing that you have 4 assignments a paper and an exam all due the week you get back, so get ahead of the curve if you can!

5. Try some meditation/relaxation exercises.

Our last tip to get the most out of your spring break is to try some meditation/relaxation exercises. Managing all of the stresses of college life can be extremely difficult, and sometimes you may feel like everything is just piling on top of you. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you’re taking care of your mental health, and there’s no better way to do that than taking the time to do a simple meditation or relaxation exercise. You won’t regret taking the time to just lay down and unwind, forgetting about everything else that’s adding to your stress. Spring break is a prime time to learn how to manage your stress better, so make sure you’re taking that time to take care of yourself!
