In just a few short weeks, Movin’ On’s 51st festival will be in full effect; and not to seem biased, but the lineup this year is the best yet.
Here is an inside look into The Dare, who will be performing just as the sun begins to set on Penn State.

The Dare, or singer, songwriter and producer Harrison Patrick Smith will be taking the stage after That Mexican OT; and will be bringing his dance-rock music to State College.
I know you have heard his hit single “Girls” on Tik-Tok or the radio or somewhere downtown. This is the song that brought The Dare to solo-project stardom and solidified him as a star in this industry.
The Dare has been making music since he was in college in 2016 with his band Turtlenecked. The band received praise and accolades from peers for their truly inspiring lyrics.
Working as a DJ part-time, The Dare began hosting semi-weekly parties called Freakquencies and DJing at afterparties for high-fashion brands. These experiences made The Dare focus his intentions on DJ and production driven music.
After the pandemic, The Dare branched into solo stardom with his hit song “Girls”, which was named the fifth best song of 2022 by The New York Times. This song was nothing like Turtlenecked’s indie-dark’s lyrics and production- this was where The Dare found his sound in electric-dance-rock music.
In 2024, The Dare joined Charli xcx on stage at her sold-out New York shows. He got the crowd ready for Charli xcx with his electronic sets that pumped the crowd up for the “brat” herself.
The Dare also works in production and mixing of music for other performers. He produced the “Guess” collaboration between Charli xcx and Billie Eillish. This song made it to the #1 spot on the UK Billboard charts (and was just played constantly during Summer 2024).
He recently surprised fans at Coachella by being one of PinkPantheress’ surprise guests during her set. Performing his remix of Addison Rae’s “Fame Is A Gun” and Charli xcx’s “Guess”, the duo brought a taste of Movin’ On to Coachella.
The Dare is known for his sunglass-graced face sets that he performs in a full black-tie suit. His signature look will look perfect on the Movin’ On stage.
Get ready for a high-energy musical set mixed with electronic-dance DJing.
We are so excited to have The Dare as one of the amazing performers for Movin’ On 2026! He will bring an energy unlike any other and we cannot wait to see you all dancing in the pit at sunset.
You will not want to miss any of these amazing performances, so make sure you are at the IM Fields on May 1st!
