Taylor Swift has broken even more records.

Taylor Swift released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3rd and it has already broken records previously held by none other than Taylor Swift herself. The album references her time on tour, her relationship and engagement with Travis Kelce, and moments from her personal and private life.

Prior to the album's release, Swift partnered with Spotify to do an immersive showgirl experience in New York City. This experience allowed fans the chance to recreate the album cover, look for any and all easter eggs she may have left and get excited for the new album together.

The Life of a Showgirl, broke records before it was even released; over 6 million people all over the world pre-saved the album on Spotify alone. This is the most amount of pre-saves an album has ever received in Spotify history.

Now though, let's discuss the success of the album post-release.

The album, which she wrote during her highly successful two-year Era’s Tour, became the most listened to album of 2025 just hours after its release on Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music. This is a record that Taylor Swift has broken four times in recent years.

This is officially Swift’s 15th time reaching the Number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

All songs from her album controlled the top 12 spots of Billboard's Top 100 list following the release - a feat Swift gains with every album release.

The biggest record that Taylor Swift broke with her 12th album was the album units sold record. Previously held by Adele’s, 25, with 3.5 million pure album sales; Swift sold 4.02 million album sales with The Life of a Showgirl, making it the biggest debut week for an album in music history.

This record was held steady by Adele since 2015, and was seemingly never going to be overcome. Taylor Swift thanked her fans for always supporting her after the news of this tremendous record-breaking moment surfaced- stating that she "couldn't even fathom that that many people would care enough” when her first album sold 40,000 copies, and that 4 million is more than she could have ever imagined.

These are only a few of the records Taylor Swift's 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, has broken in its first two weeks of listening. There are more to come, but for now, let's keep streaming!
