Halloween is the one night a year you can dress up as any ghost or vampire and dance like no one is watching.

With Saturween just around the corner, it is time to start making your killer party playlist to bring the spooky vibes to life.

Whether you are planning a costume party, a scary movie night, or just getting together with friends, here are some songs that will surely keep the party going until the sun comes up.

Thriller - Michael Jackson

Starting with some oldies, we have the classic of all classics and one of Michael Jackson’s best, “Thriller”. The iconic beat mixed with the creepy sound effects will be a great way to get people dancing. No one can forget the eerie yet entertaining music video released about a year after the song. Bonus points if everyone attempts the famous zombie dance.

Monster Mash - Bobby Pickett

Another nostalgic song that started it all. “Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett is a catchy yet cheesy tune in the best possible way. Dated all the way back to 1962, the Monster Mash was actually written as a parody of songs like “The Twist” and “Mashed Potato Time.” Pickett was a huge fan of the classic horror movies and loved doing spooky voices to imitate our favorite monsters.

Dracula- Tame Impala

Switching to more modern music, Dracula, released just over a year ago on Tame Impala’s newest album “Deadbeat,” took over our TikTok algorithms and reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. With the obvious theme of vampires, it definitely can match your spooky evening and gives you that disco groove to dance through out the night.

Somebody’s Watching Me– Rockwell

If you want a creepier vibe, Somebody's Watching Me tells a story about the fear of being stalked through lyrics and a

little bit of Michael Jackson. Similar to Thriller, Rockwell incorporates a paranoid synth-pop feel to add to his childhood horrors and his concern about privacy. When it comes to karaoke, this song is fantastic for getting the crowd to sing along with you.

Dead Dance–Lady Dance

If you watched the newest season of Netflix Original “Wednesday,” you might remember Lady Gaga's featured song Dead Dance. While the song killed in the show (literally), it also made its way to TikTok, where people performed the famous “Wednesday dance” with elaborate costumes and makeup. If your guests are chronically online like I am, I’m sure they can dust off the cobwebs and whip out their moves on the dance floor.

Maneater- Nelly Furtado

The ideal addition to your Halloween playlist if you’re looking for a song that adds a little danger to the dance floor. Everyone will want to get up and dance to this 2006 pop smash because of its catchy beat and edgy feel. Though it is not typically a Halloween song, its theme about mysterious women that are impossible to resist fits right with the vampires, witches, and other creatures of the night. This song is the ideal soundtrack if you want to embrace your inner villain this Halloween.

Any Halloween party can be made unforgettable with the right soundtrack. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from timeless eerie tunes to more recent hits that have taken over TikTok. So put on your costume, set up the music, and get ready to dance all night long. Happy Halloween!
